The short version: Wordmere is free to play, supported by ads and optional in-app purchases.
You never need an account, and we never ask for your name, email or address.
Your progress stays on your device. Our advertising and analytics partners do receive some
device information — what that is, and what you can turn off, is set out below.
Information we handle
Stored only on your device
Game progress — your level, coins, found words and daily-puzzle history, kept in local storage on your device and never uploaded.
Settings — your sound, music and haptics preferences, stored locally.
Purchases
Optional in-app purchases — coin packs, the piggy bank, and the ad-free options — are processed by the store you installed from (the Apple App Store or Google Play). We never receive or store your payment details; the store handles the transaction and tells us only that a purchase succeeded. RevenueCat validates purchases on our behalf so we know which ones are active. These requests carry no personal data.
Advertising
Wordmere shows ads. Most are rewarded videos you choose to watch in exchange for coins or a hint; there are also occasional interstitials between levels.
Who serves them. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which runs an auction across other ad networks to fill each slot — currently Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads and AppLovin.
What they receive. To select, show and measure an ad, these partners receive your device's advertising identifier, your IP address (which indicates an approximate location, typically your city or region), and basic interaction signals such as app opens and whether an ad was viewed or completed. This is used for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention.
On iOS. We ask your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before using Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you decline, you still see ads, but they are non-personalised. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
On Android. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. You are shown a consent form before ads are personalised, and you can change your choices at any time from an ad's options menu.
Turning ads off. Wordmere offers a 30-day ad-free pass and a permanent Remove Ads purchase. Both stop interstitial ads. Rewarded videos remain available if you want to watch one for a reward, and are never forced.
Product analytics. We use PostHog and Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the game is played — which levels are reached, which features are used, where people get stuck. These events are tied to a random, app-generated identifier, not to your name, email, Apple ID or Google account.
Crash reports.Firebase Crashlytics sends us diagnostic information when the app crashes, so we can fix it.
Notifications. If you allow notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers reminders such as your daily puzzle or streak. You can turn these off at any time in your device settings, or in the game's own settings.
Measuring our own marketing
When we promote Wordmere with app-install ads, we use the Google (Firebase) and Meta (Facebook) SDKs to measure how those campaigns perform. If you install or play after seeing one of our ads, these SDKs may share limited app activity — installs, gameplay milestones and purchases — with Google and Meta, solely to measure and improve that advertising. On iOS this also uses Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork, which reports in aggregate.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. The parties that receive data are:
Google — AdMob (serving and measuring ads), Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Cloud Messaging.
Meta, Unity and AppLovin — as ad networks bidding to fill an ad slot, and Meta additionally for measuring our own install campaigns.
PostHog — anonymous product analytics.
Apple or Google, and RevenueCat — processing and validating purchases.
None of these receive your name, email address or any information you have given us directly, because we do not ask you for any.
Children's privacy
Wordmere is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
Decline tracking on iOS, or reset or delete your advertising ID on either platform, using the steps under Advertising above.
Change your consent choices in the EEA, UK and Switzerland from any ad's options menu.
Turn notifications off in your device settings or in the game.
Buy an ad-free option if you would rather not see interstitials.
Clear the app's storage or uninstall it to remove everything held on your device.
Manage or restore purchases in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
Data retention and your rights
Locally-stored data persists until you clear it or uninstall the app. We do not maintain user accounts or server-side profiles, so we hold no file about you to look up by name. Analytics and advertising data held by the partners above is retained under their own policies. If you would like to ask what is held or request deletion, email us at the address below and we will help.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change. Material changes will be noted in-app or on this page.
